One of the sectors hardest hit by the covid-19 crisis has been that of car rental companies. Hertz, the second company in the world in this sector, is going through bad times, so it has decided sell their exclusive sports. Specifically, two Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 customized for your fleet in September 2019.
Hertz has been one of the giants hardest hit by world confinement. On April 22, he filed for bankruptcy in the United States. Unlike here, that does not mean that the company closes or ceases to operate, but rather that it is a way of deferring payments, surely to save time while users’ confidence recovers, and they rent cars again.
When we think of a rental car we usually imagine the typical company car, or the utility car that many people rent when on vacation. But companies like Hertz also offer to rent expensive custom sports cars, like this one. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 custom:
As our colleague Rebeca Álvarez from Top Gear tells us, in September 2019 Hertz acquired 24 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 personalized with the company’s colors, in addition to specific rims, identifying emblems on the bumpers and the signature of the pilot William Byron on the headrests.
They were also equipped with a Callaway compressor, and all of them carry a ten-speed automatic transmission. While the original model, with the standard 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine reaches 650 hp, These custom Camaros offer 750 horsepower.
Of these 24 sports cars, at the moment Hertz has only put two for sale, in the United States, at a price of around 71,000 euros. The series models can be obtained for less, but as we have commented it must be taken into account that they have unique customizations.
They are also two almost new units, with only 5,427 and 2,924 km.
They are not the only exotic vehicles that Hertz has put up for sale. You also want to let go of your Chevrolet Corvette Z06 “Hertz 100th Anniversary Edition”.
