A South Carolina mother is now under the custody of police authorities after she was accused of killing her 6-year-old child and attempting to drown her 8-year-old daughter.
Suspicion of Killing and Drowning
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home at Sam Doyle Drive in Saint Helena Island, South Carolina on May 19 around 1:25 a.m. after they received a report from one of the residents in the home. The person called about a baby crying and asking for help.
In a published article in TRUE CRIME DAILY, the victim’s cry woke up other residents in the home and one of them called 911. When deputies arrived, they searched the home and found the dead body of a 6-year-old child identified as Mackaya Bradley-Brun.
The cause of death of the 6-year-old child is not yet known. Meanwhile, Jamie Bradley-Brun, 37 years old and the mother of the child, is suspected of killing the child. Investigators also believed that she attempted to drown her another 8-year-old child.
Autopsy and Charges
According to a report published in WJCL22, the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy of the deceased body of the 6-year-old child to determine the cause of death.
Furthermore, Jamie Bradley-Brun was already booked at Beaufort County Detention Center and was charged with murder and attempted murder.
