$16.5B Property Tax Reform Bills Agreed To Pass By The Texas Senate
According to Senator Paul Bettencour, the Texas Senate agreed and approves the $16.5 billion in property tax reform bills for Texas homeowners.
According to the released statement, SB 3, SB4, SJR 3, and Senator Parker’s SB 5 all passed out of the Senate on a bipartisan ‘4-PEAT’ with a 124-0 vote. It says that the property tax reform bill would probably impact more than 5.5 million Texans. This bill passes hours came after Gov. Greg Abbott ordered the Legislature to go back to work to discuss some issues about this one and some human smuggling. The architect of the Senate’s Property Tax Plan, Senator Bettencourt (R-Houston) said that the Senate’s Property Tax Reform Bills package were moved through the Senate and was voted. The vote was 124-o because 31 senators already know that Texas homesteaders and business owners badly need real property tax relief, the package offered to Texans is permanent.
He added that it is a $60,000 increase and would benefit the Texans because it means that wherever people move, wherever they go in the State of Texas they are still going to get $681 off on that homestead exemption for the rest of their lives.
