$27 Billion Covid Relief Money To Be Return In Order To Limit The Debt

This month the federal Corona Virus emergency officially ended. Republican and White House negotiators agreed and approves that they would be returning some unused funds worth $27 billion to federal agencies in order to limit and reduce the debt.

President Biden said publicly that he is open to returning and giving back the unused COVID funding if the COVID emergency will end. According to the released statement, funds that are unused and will be returned are what we call “rescission.”

Based on the documents from the White House to congressional Democrats and obtained by NPR these recissions are the funds that have not been used by some of the agencies during the pandemic era.

$27 Billion Covid Relief Money Will Be Given Back To Federal Agencies In Order To Limit The Debt

They said, that these funds are questioned during the pandemic because Republicans who questioned the administration’s requests for more funds argued that there are over $5 trillion spent on pandemic relief and they said that the funds were too much already. White House Budget Director Shalanda Young said in the statement that some of that money is spread around and used exactly to what is need to be used. Those unused COVID relief funds will be distributed by Congress during this year’s budget process and some other budget in federal parties, they will also check how to reduce overall government spending.
