CLAIM YOUR REFUND FOR 2019 TAXES BEFORE JULY 17
The IRS has issued a “last call” for Americans who owe unclaimed refund for 2019 taxes totaling around $1.5 billion to file claims.
According to the organization, over 1.5 million people are qualified to receive a total of almost $1.5 billion in unclaimed refund for 2019 taxes, with the average refund amounting to $893 on average.
The due date for filing a 2019 tax return and seeking reimbursements/refund for 2019 taxes is July 17.
According to a statement by IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel, who highlighted that the deadline is “rapidly approaching,” “time is the enemy for taxpayers who wanted a refund for 2019 taxes.”
During the initial phases of the COVID-19 pandemic, anyone who “may have overlooked filing” was urged by the IRS inspector to “act quickly before they lose their last opportunity to claim a possibly substantial refund for 2019 taxes.”
Due to the outbreak, the IRS highlighted that taxpayers have “more time than usual” to file refund for 2019 taxes claims for the 2019 tax year, with the cutoff date being extended a few months past the typical three-year filing window to mid-July of this year.
Based from the population data, there are an estimated 3,000 taxpayers in every state who have unclaimed refund for 2019 taxes. This refund for 2019 taxes could be of help to cover various expenses for living.
California (almost 145,000), Texas (more than 135,000), Florida (about 90,000), and New York (81,600) are among the states with the greatest estimated number of people who are entitled refund for 2019 taxes.
