A New York City teacher is currently facing a possible life sentence after luring a mentally-ill student into having sex with her.
New York City Teacher Sexually Exploiting A Mentally-Ill Student
A 34-year-old New York City teacher was recently detained under the suspicion of seducing a 16-year-old student who was “mentally ill” into having sex with her and engaging in other sexual acts with her. Federal officials detained the New York City teacher named Sandy Carazas-Pinez last Wednesday morning and charged her with one count of luring a juvenile victim to participate in unlawful sexual acts as well as one count of producing child pornography.
When the charges against Carazas-Pinez first came to light in March 2023, she lost her job as a New York City teacher at the Bondi School in Yonkers, which focuses on educating students with learning disabilities and special needs.
According to the Southern District of New York’s Attorney’s Office, the victim and Carazas-Pinez’s connection started in November 2022 and lasted until February 2023. Authorities claim that the New York City teacher “abused her position” during that time by giving her victim special treatment during classes and leading him to “believe that they were in a romantic relationship.”

How The Sexual Acts Were Carried Out By The Sandy Carazas-Pinez
The New York City teacher allegedly used her cellphone to set up sexual encounters with the victim and repeatedly persuaded him to “engage in live-streamed sexually explicit conduct” during video calls. The relationship allegedly started with the two of them frequently exchanging texts that turned “increasingly sexual in nature”. Authorities claim that in texts reportedly taken from the New York City teacher’s electronic devices, she referred to the victim’s live video chats and sex meetings with her as “gifts.”
Additionally, the New York City teacher persuaded the victim to maintain their connection even after the victim wished to end their wrongful relationship by “threatening to remove school privileges” if he stopped seeing her.
Following her arrest, the New York City teacher faces a possible sentence of 30 years in jail for child pornography and life in prison for enticement.
