Shakira on her Tax Fraud case: ‘It also happens unjustly to the regular taxpayer. It’s just their style’

Since last summer, the singer-songwriter is disputing every accusation in her tax fraud case in Spain, which cost her 16.2 million in taxes from 2012 to 2014; a court in the Barcelona suburb of Esplugues de Llobregat began operating a second investigation into two tax evasion allegations in 2018.

The tax Fraud Case of Shakira is merely allegations

Shakira asserted that she continually abides by what is stipulated by law and that the claims leveled against her are merely allegations. According to Shakira, the Spanish tax authorities frequently make these claims against celebrities, not only against her but also even other prominent individuals in the sector.

According to the AV Club’s published article, Shakira is much more focused on her life in Miami. Shakira is happy with the artistic life she has, despite all the circulating allegations she is facing. Shakira is pleased with the life she has, and after all the issues she encounters, she does not doubt that these tax-related issues will be settled in her favor.

Meanwhile, in the AV Club published article, Shakira is reportedly being accused by the local press of cohabitating with her lover, former Barcelona football player Gerard Pique. Shakira could be sentenced to eight years in prison, as well as additional fines, if she is found guilty of the first charge and the prosecution wins.

On September 20, 2022, Shakira stated to Elle that she owed them nothing. Shakira is positive that she paid everything up front before they complained.
