The Chatham Borough and Chatham Township police departments will be conducting their annual National Night Out festivities from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1.
National Night Out Event 2023!
The national law enforcement event has the objective to reinforce the ties between policemen and community members. Chatham Township’s NNO will be staged at the Colony Pool, while Chatham Borough’s will be held beneath the library in Memorial Park.
The Chatham community is cordially invited to an evening of fun featuring free ice cream and swimming, food trucks, a tattoo station, live music, and other events.
Citizens can meet personnel of the Chatham Police Department, Fire Department, and Department of Public Works, based according to a Patch report.

National Night Out was created to foster camaraderie and solidarity to assist each community in creating a much safer environment. This is a powerful relationship that can be used to connect neighbors and law enforcement. It is intended to provide a favorable environment for officers and neighbors to collaborate.
The campaign, which began in 1984, encourages crime prevention activities, community partnerships, and neighborhood bonding, according to a Patch article.
