A person with knowledge of the inquiry told CNN that police are looking for a 17-year-old they suspect was responsible for the stabbing death of a Brooklyn man.
In a report published by CNN, an NYPD spokesperson informed CNN that the incident of a man stabbed to death at a Brooklyn gas station on Saturday night is what authorities are looking into as a potential anti-gay hate crime.
O’Shae Sibley, the man stabbed to death, was vogueing with pals at the gas station when a group of males approached them and began shouting homophobic epithets at them, according to Sibley’s buddy Otis Pena.
The anti-gay remarks eventually resulted in a disagreement and incident of a man stabbed to death, according to the NYPD spokesperson.
Pena, who was present when it happened, claimed that as the argument heated up, one man stabbed Sibley. Pena claimed that he assisted Sibley and applied pressure on his wound.

Sibley, the Man Stabbed to Death at Brooklyn received a fatal wound in the Torso
In a report published by CBS News Brooklyn, Sibley, the man stabbed to death, according to police, was stabbed in the torso. After being transported, he was declared dead at Maimonides Medical Center, according to the police.
According to the website of the organization, Sibley, the man stabbed to death, was a known dancer who appeared in several music videos and had performances at the prestigious Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.
A state senator from New York named Brad Hoylman-Sigal tweeted about the incident on Monday, calling himself “heartbroken and enraged” to hear of Sibley’s passing.
“Despite the greatest efforts of homophobes, gay joy is not illegal. Attacks motivated by hatred are,” the gay senator tweeted.
