A 22-year-old Texas woman was taken into custody and charged with a third-degree crime and abuse to livestock animals; 12 horses and 24 dogs were spotted slaughtered on the Texas woman’s ranch.
Texas Woman Arrested for Animal Cruelty
Several of the animals were said to be discovered lifeless underneath cages in the RV Sword was staying in, whereas others were found dead in areas with little protection under the scorching heat of the sun.
Sword purportedly claimed to government officials that the livestock belonged to her recently deceased partner, but she became too devastated to take care of the animals.
In a CBS Texas article, according to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, detectives served a search warrant on the farm and recovered a dozen horses that have died and two dozen slain dogs. Animal control was brought in to care for the few remaining animals.
Texas Woman Faces $85,000 bail
Animal authorities have taken care of several additional animals discovered alive on the property, says in the Fox News article.
Her grandparents bred livestock and the Texas woman currently lives on the farm. According to the Collin County website, she is still being held on $85,000 bail.
