Egypt has rejected the Biden administration’s proposal to supply Ukraine for its impending counteroffensive, just months after Cairo renounced its intentions to support Moscow.
United States Supplies Egypt
The United States supplies Egypt with roughly $1.3 billion in armed forces assistance on an annual basis, the amount of which is contingent on current geopolitical circumstances and Cairo’s civil rights history.
In response to Egypt’s perpetual inability to lend a hand to Ukraine, an alliance of House Democrats encouraged Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a letter sent to him on Thursday to be more circumspect concerning the country’s conditional financing.

In a report published by NewsMax, according to the Journal, the United States provides Egypt with $1.3 billion in armed forces support each year, including certain amounts of it subject to political conditions and Cairo’s civil rights track. In accordance with State Department estimates, Washington has supported Egypt with over fifty billion dollars in defense and $30 billion in economic support since 1978.
Egypt made the choice not to contribute to the Kremlin’s encroachment, and the country’s leadership is apprehensive of facilitating the Western effort to replenish Ukraine’s depleted ammunition stockpiles.
