Virgin Galactic Space Flight launched three civilian customers into space on August 10. This is the first time in the Virgin Galactic Space Flight company’s 19-year history that it will send customers into space.
The customers that will be on the commercial Virgin Galactic Space Flight have either purchased or won their seats on the VSS Unity spacecraft.
The said Virgin Galactic Space Flight was about 90 minutes long and will reach a top speed of Mach 3, which is three times the speed of sound or 2,301 miles per hour. During the Virgin Galactic Space Flight, passengers are said to experience three minutes of weightlessness when they arc into space before returning back to Earth.
The said Virgin Galactic Space Flight that was dubbed as the Galactic 02, took off from Spaceport America, a private launch facility located deep in the New Mexican desert, an hour drive from Las Cruces.
Richard Branson owns the Virgin Galactic Space Flight company. The Benson shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the Galactic 02 crew safely landed in Spaceport America.
The said Virgin Galactic Space Flight was said to be an almost 16-minute flight. The ticket price for the Virgin Galactic Space Flight is $450,000.
On the spacecraft, there were a total of six individuals during the Virgin Galactic Space Flight. This included CJ Sturckow, a former Nasa astronaut and the commander of the space plane. The pilot Kelly Latimer and Beth Moses, the chief astronaut instructor at Virgin Galactic, had trained the crew before the commercial Virgin Galactic Space Flight, says The Guadian.
The Guardian added that among them were the 3 civilians who one was an Antiguan mother-daughter pair, Keisha Schahaff and her daughter, Anastasia Mayers, 18. Also former Olympian Jon Goodwin, 80.
Schahaff and Mayers were said to be the first mother-daughter pair to ever venture to space together. While the former Olympian, Goodwill was the second passenger with Parkinson’s and at the same time, he was the first Olympian to embark on a space trip.
