Golden Valley police are investigating a new theft involving luxury vehicles, which occurred a few days after a previous heist where several cars, including a high-end Maserati, were stolen from a garage in Minnesota.
The Golden Valley Police were called to Porsche Minneapolis in Golden Valley on Wayzata Boulevard at approximately 5:20 a.m. on Thursday regarding a luxury car theft.
According to Golden Valley police, thieves tried to drive a vehicle through a dealership’s service door but failed. However, they managed to open another door leading to the service area and used it to steal a black Porsche 911. The stolen car, a 2023 model, has a retail value of over $100,000, Golden Valley police added
On Thursday, Golden Valley police also announced they had recovered five vehicles that had been stolen from a garage earlier in the week, including a Maserati.
The said stolen Porsche in north Minneapolis was stopped by the Golden Valley police. During a short pursuit, the Porsche collided with a Hennepin Sheriffs squad car and fled from the scene, says Golden Valley police.
The Golden Valley Police are saying that investigation related to the luxury car heist is still ongoing.
According to CBS News Minnesota, Golden Valley Police are saying that their detectives are diligently collecting more information and suspect details for an ongoing investigation. The Golden Valley Police are seeking help from the public to gather more clues.
The Golden Valley Police Chief Virgil Green mentioned that a distinct vehicle, a 2023 Maserati Ghibli Trofeo without a license plate, will be easily noticeable.
Golden Valley police are asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle to contact them.
The other vehicles have been reported stolen, such as a Honda CRV, Subaru Outback, Subaru Forester, BMW 3 Series, Chevrolet Camaro, and Ford F-150 Limited, according to CBS News Minnesota.
The Golden Valley police are also notifying other nearby car dealerships about the said thefts.
