The $1 million Iowa lottery winner has only two weeks left to claim their prize.

The Iowa lottery winner purchased the ticket at a Gateway Express on University Boulevard almost a year ago and will expire on September 6th.

The Iowa lottery winner isn’t the only one testing their luck. Aside from the $1 Million Iowa lottery winner, there are still over 100 untaken lottery tickets in the state.

The prizes for the said tickets range from $600 to $1 million, with varying expiration dates.

Each year around $1M to $2M worth of lottery prizes expire without being claimed by an Iowa lottery winner.

According to CBS affiliate KCCI-TV, the ticket owned by the Iowa lottery winner matched the first five numbers (6-17-46-59-68). The Iowa lottery winner missed an even bigger prize by not matching the Mega Ball (2), People reports.

Under the state lottery rules in Iowa, any Iowa lottery winner who wins a prize exceeding $250,000 needs to go in person to the Iowa Lottery headquarters in Clive, which is located less than an hour away from Ames, People added.

If you think the $1 million Iowa lottery winner hit the jackpot, last week, a lottery winner in Texas bought a $17 million winning ticket at a 7-Eleven on Campbell Road in north Dallas, the said prize remains to be unclaimed.
