The president’s non-controversial style isn’t working. The administration keeps a tight lid on things, and between its “no leak” stance and the need for a return to normalcy, there aren’t many juicy tidbits for a riveting read. Furthermore, a recent New York Times/Siena College poll reveals that Joe Biden’s support inside the party is continuing to decline, particularly among Black and Hispanic voters, who are usually Democratic voting blocs.
In a report from POLITICO’s Daniel Lippman, they said that conservatives who believe the president is insane will not bother to read a book by Biden. However, it is different from the Trump Administration in that the books offered disclosure of disarray, and Donald Trump’s Administration will boom off the shelves.

In a report of Politico, On a question raised by Catherine Kim if the book industry was surprised by the book, David Lippman answered that the book industry was not surprised by the sales of the Biden book but they were disappointed that the people are used to the Trump Administration and all its information about the administration. For people, it is a great book both pro-Trump and anti-Trump. However, it is a boom or bust for Biden because people take less interest in reading for it makes them go back to history and novels. It is a boom or bust for the people as it doesn’t give jaw-dropping revelations at every turn.
Another question from Kim if people are not interested to political books anymore but Lippman answered that it feels intriguing for him because there are less conservative books that are not good for Biden. The book of Biden could be a boom or bust for the administrations and the conservatives. Instead, these conservatives are looking for information from anti-Biden news from X or other conservative media sources. Which, Biden administration doesn’t have major scandals, and conservative authors and investigative journalists are prevented from looking into this.
In a report by The Guardians, additionally, a conservative publisher said that Hunter Biden is not his president. Though, there are some novels that mention Hunter Biden it doesn’t have significant controversies such as spending from IRA and infrastructure packages which makes these conservative writers not fortunate. This decision can be a boom or bust for everyone.
Then Kim asked about the White House administration, and Lippman answered that it is not their job to provide material for books and they are trying to bring back the hardships in molding policy and executing their agenda. They want to enact how the history books told about them. He also said that Bob Woodward would participate in writing a book for Biden however There is a big culture in the White House and administration of not leaking.
And for Lippman, it is hard as a reporter to know what is really happening. It needs a tiresome job to know those stories. For him, it might be possible but it doesn’t witness knife fights like in the Trump Administration where people are full of information before the reports or the book. Unlike Trump and Miles Taylor, it doesn’t have an unnamed senior in the Biden Administration who has written a tell-all. For this kind of administration, it is either a boom or bust for the administration.
Kim also asked Lippman what would make a presidential book a bestseller. As for Lippman, in order not to be a boom or bust, Brand-name journalists like Franklin Foer, who recently published “The Last Politician” on Biden and has written a number of successful books before, are some of the keys to good book sales for a political or Biden book.
