Washington maintains de facto relations with democratic Taiwan and supports the island’s right to determine its own future while diplomatically recognizing Beijing’s superiority over Taipei.

In a report by NDTV, the United States and Western Allies increased their freedom of navigation towards the Taiwan Strait and some parts of the South China Sea considering that they are both international waterways. As for them, their naval vessels are free to cross on these places. However, it makes Beijing angry. That is why they stay on high alert.
