Publix, a Florida grocery store chain, offers lottery tickets as a service to its customers. Despite selling numerous winning tickets, the Florida grocery store chain does not publicly comment on lottery wins.
The 500x the Cash scratch-off game in the Florida grocery store chain costs $50 per ticket and was launched by the Florida Lottery in February 2022. The game in the Florida grocery store chain offers various prizes, including $1 million and $25 million.
Of the 156 $1 million prizes, 45 winning tickets were purchased from a Publix, the Florida grocery store chain. Additionally, one of the two $25 million top prizes was won at a Publix store, the Florida grocery store chain.
According to a published article by Florida Today, the odds of winning the top prize are 1-in-21,419,145, and the overall odds of winning any prize are 1-in-4.50 for the 500x the Cash game.
A Jackpot Record From 2018 Is Now Broken
In a published article by ABC News, the jackpot surpassed the previous Mega Millions high of $1.537 billion in 2018.
The jackpot is now the third-largest in US lottery history, behind a $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot in 2016 and a $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot in 2022.
The next drawing will be held on Friday with an estimated $20 million prize.
