52-year-old Bruno Casallas-Rivero from North Fort Myers was arrested for attacking a woman at his home and threatening her with a gun.
The woman sought help from a school resource officer, explaining that she had been arguing with the man for several days.
On the day of the incident, the North Fort Myers man woke the woman up and asked her to watch a video, but when she couldn’t see anything as the screen was blank, he became aggressive.
The North Fort Myers man punched the said woman, grabbed her by the neck, and forced her to watch the video and when she insisted that she couldn’t see anything he pointed a gun at her head. In the commotion, she managed to escape and leave the house.
The woman fell while running and was almost pulled back into the house, but she eventually made it to a nearby elementary school to report the incident.
The woman called detectives to report that the North Fort Myers man had been hallucinating and sleep deprived.
The woman had never seen the gun before, when deputies arrived at the North Fort Myers man’s home, he refused to come out and claimed the gun was unloaded.
The SWAT team was called in to help, and they managed to get him to surrender safely. Detectives found a gun during a search of the home.
The North Fort Myers man was then arrested and charged with false imprisonment, aggravated assault, battery, and resisting law enforcement.
