According to voanews.com, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, called on the Security Council to condemn what he labeled as Hamas war crimes against Israeli citizens. He emphasized the need for unequivocal condemnation of these acts and expressed Israel’s demand for steadfast support to defend itself, following a multi-prong attack by Hamas fighters on Israeli towns and cities, highlighting the gravity of Israel war crimes.
Erdan likened the attack to Israel’s “9/11” due to its scale and impact, stating that Hamas would not stop until they achieved their goal of destroying Israel, intensifying concerns about Israel war crimes. In response to the attack, Israeli airstrikes targeted Gaza, resulting in casualties among Palestinians and raising questions about potential Israel war crimes.
The situation was described as fluid and dangerous by the U.S. representative, Ambassador Robert Wood, who mentioned efforts to prevent the conflict from spreading and mitigate Israel war crimes.
