Rep. George Santos’ New Criminal Charges

Rep. George Santos has been hit with new criminal charges. Rep. George Santos is facing criminal charges including stealing people’s identities, making unauthorized charges on his donors’ credit cards, and lying to federal election officials.

The 23-count superseding indictment for Rep. George Santos also includes charges of wire fraud, making false statements to the Federal Election Commission, and money laundering. Rep. George Santos is facing a lengthy prison term if convicted.

According to a published ABC7 News, Rep. George Santos has vowed to fight the charges and will not resign. The indictment for Rep. George Santos comes as Long Island Democrat Tom Suozzi launches a campaign to retake Santos’ New York congressional seat.

Previous Indictments Of Rep. George Santos

In a published article by BBC, this recent issue follows a previous indictment where Rep. George Santos pleaded not guilty to charges of laundering campaign funds and claiming unemployment benefits while employed.

Rep. George Santos, who was elected in 2022, has faced multiple scandals, including false claims about his education and work experience and creating a fake animal charity.

House Democrats have filed a resolution to expel him, and he has faced calls to resign from within his own party.
