In a recent report published by the 7 News Boston , in October 11, 2023, the arrest of Former NFL player Sergio Brown follows a warrant issued for first-degree murder in connection with the killing of his mother, Myrtle Brown, 73, in their Maywood home. Brown, known for his time as a defensive back for Notre Dame and several NFL teams, was arrested upon re-entering the US from Mexico, where Mexican law enforcement had tracked him since September 19.

Former NFL player Brown’s deportation from Mexico to the US was not without incident. Sources indicate that he caused a disturbance on an extradition flight, raising concerns from the plane’s captain. Now held in San Diego on a felony fugitive arrest warrant, Former NFL player Brown awaits extradition to Maywood, a suburb of Chicago.

The family had no contact with Sergio since his disappearance, and a video circulating on social media showed him in a tropical location talking about “fake news” and claiming he thought his mother was on vacation.

The family, through their attorney, Christian Conway, called for truth and accountability, emphasizing that no family should endure uncertainty regarding their loved one’s passing.
