The Decrease Of Gas Prices In Georgia

Gas prices in Georgia continue to decrease, with the average price for regular unleaded gasoline now at $3.07 per gallon. These gas prices in Georgia is 8 cents less than the previous week, 37 cents less than a month ago, and 19 cents less than the same time last year.

The gas prices in Georgia costs an average of $46.05 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gas, which is almost $3.00 less than a year ago. The decrease in as prices in Georgia is attributed to the suspension of the state’s gas tax by Governor Kemp and lower demand.

Despite the tension in gas prices in Georgia which a negative result in the oil market due to the Hamas attack on Israel, national gas prices have also fallen by 10 cents to $3.60 per gallon. Gas demand has increased, but descending oil prices are expected to result in further price drops at the pump in the coming weeks, juts like the decrease in gas prices in Georgia.

According to a published article by WRGA, despite the decrease in gas prices in Georgia, the most expensive metro markets in the said state remain to be Savannah, Atlanta, and Hinesville-Fort Stewart. While the least expensive are Catoosa-Dade-Walker, Valdosta, and Albany while gas prices in Georgia continues to decrease over time.

Uncertainty Of This Trend

In a published article by TheStreet, it is uncertain how long this trend will continue, as Saudi Arabia and Russia aim to keep prices high by reducing crude oil availability.
