Idaho mother and son have been recently charged with kidnapping. The mother and son took the son’s underage girlfriend out of state to get an abortion.
Since Idaho strictly restricts abortion, it may have been the mother and son’s only choice at that time. While it is legal in Oregon, leading many people, such as the mother and son, to cross the border for the procedure.
The girl’s mother reported the mother and son to authorities that her daughter had been assaulted and taken to Oregon. The mother and son have also been charged with other crimes, including producing child exploitative material.
According to a published article by CBS News, Idaho’s restrictive abortion laws are causing OB/GYNs to leave the state. Doctors treating non-viable pregnancies are in a difficult position due to these laws.
