California Highway Patrol Officer Goes Under Investigation

State authorities are investigating the shooting and killing of a man by a California Highway Patrol officer. This incident involved the California Highway Patrol officer in a struggle on a Los Angeles area freeway.

The incident involving the California Highway Patrol officer occurred after multiple calls were made about a pedestrian walking in the westbound lanes of Interstate 105.

A struggle ensued between the California Highway Patrol officer and the pedestrian, resulting in the shooting. A video recorded by a bystander shows the California Highway Patrol officer firing at least four shots at the motionless man after he goes limp on the pavement.

According to a published article by Fox News, the investigation will seek to determine why the California Highway Patrol officer approached the pedestrian without backup and whether the man was armed.

The Pedestrian’s Condition Remains Unknown

In a published article by Daily Mail, the pedestrian was taken to the hospital, but their condition is unknown. The pedestrian was reportedly walking in and out of traffic on the freeway, prompting police to respond.

A witness captured footage of the officer wrestling with the pedestrian on the ground, eventually shooting him multiple times until he stopped moving.

The officer was unharmed. As a result of the shooting, several westbound lanes on the highway were closed, causing significant traffic disruptions.
