According to source, in a bizarre incident in Florida, a 70-year-old man named John Sandoval was arrested after allegedly throwing a package of Oreo cookies at his wife during an argument about their empty coffee maker. The dispute unfolded at their table, where the couple of over 40 years engaged in a verbal altercation. As tensions escalated, Sandoval reportedly became “aggressive” and forcefully hurled the package of cookies at his wife’s chest, causing her to fall to the ground. Deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s office disclosed that Sandoval also, at some point, placed his hands on her throat, inducing her to fall to the ground, although her airways were not restricted.
Despite the absence of apparent injuries, the woman’s daughter encouraged her mother to file charges, which she did the following day. During interviews with detectives, Sandoval admitted to throwing the cookies but claimed no recollection of grabbing his wife’s throat, causing her to fall to the ground.
The 70-year-old now faces charges of felony domestic battery on a person aged 65 or older. This incident sheds light on the peculiar and sometimes trivial triggers that can lead to domestic disputes, resulting in legal consequences even in seemingly mundane situations.
