Aside from A.J. Hinch, four new coaches were also hired for the Detroit Tigers.
A.J. Hinch’s New Contract
The Detroit Tigers have extended manager A.J. Hinch’s contract for the long term and have brought on board four new coaches for his staff. A.J. Hinch, formerly the manager of the Houston Astros, successfully guided them to a World Series victory in 2017.
However, A.J. Hinch faced a suspension from Major League Baseball due to his involvement in a sign-stealing scandal. Despite this setback, the Tigers secured a second-place finish in their division this year and are confident in A.J. Hinch’s enduring commitment to the team.
According to a published article by AP News, along with A.J. Hinch, the newly appointed coaches consist of Joey Cora as the third base coach, Anthony Iapoce as the first base coach, Ryan Sienko as the catching coach, and as for the assistant major league hitting coach, it was announced to be Lance Zawadzki.
Undisclosed Terms Of The Contract Extension
In a published article by ESPN, the terms of the deal were not disclosed. The extension was agreed upon during a dinner with Hinch, Harris, and general manager Jeff Greenberg shortly after the end of the team’s season. Hinch expressed his love for working with Harris and his interest in whatever they had in mind.
The team also announced the addition of four new coaches to Hinch’s coaching staff for the upcoming season.
