Despite its tech and beauty, California has crime. California’s 20 most hazardous cities by crime are listed by Spolin Law and Property Club. The crime rate per 1,000 individuals shows Californians’ safety concerns.

Worrying (Rank 10). Barstow
With 25,442 residents, Barstow has alarming crime rates. More than double the national rate, violent crime is 10.77/1,000. Our city has higher property crime than the nation, therefore prevention is key.

Salinas property and violence rank (Rank 9).
Salinas has 162,791 persons and a 5.28 violent crime rate per 1,000, greater than the national median. Effective solutions are needed for 24.10 property crimes.

Safety-focused Eureka (Rank 8)
Eureka has 6.87 violent and 45.42 property crimes. Despite challenges, the city decreases crime to protect residents.

Red Bluff: Crime Challenges (Rank 7)
Red Bluff has 10.08 violent and 49.01 property offenses. City crime is falling and safety is improving.

Commerce: Unique Challenges (Rank 6)
10.86 violent and 95.25 property crimes plague Commerce. Continuous crime prevention protects citizens.

Stockton Economic Issues (Rank 5)
Stockton, recovering from bankruptcy, has 98.1 violent and 46.39 property offenses. Improved gun violence prevention programs like Advance Peace target high-risk individuals.

Crime rates in different cities show the need to address basic issues. Crime escalates with poverty, illiteracy, addiction, and mental illness. Cities can fix these concerns to improve safety and quality. Every city needs unique solutions.

San Bernardino Crime (Rank 4)
In Southern California, San Bernardino has 11.05 violent and 45.99 property crimes. Police and social services have been affected by the city’s 2012 bankruptcy, making crime prevention difficult.

Redding: Homelessness, Crime (Rank 3).
Homelessness in Redding, California, encourages violence. The 9.16 violent and 70.02 property crime rates in Redding are alarming. A California hamlet with significant mental disease and addiction rates.

Oakland crime (Rank 2)
The eighth-largest city in California, Oakland, has 12.99 violent and 52.49 property crime rates. Community policing and high-risk teen programs have not reduced municipal crime, raising worries.

Low, High Crime Emeryville (Rank 1) California’s deadliest city is Emeryville. The city’s 165.71 property crime and 11.24 violent crime rates are impressive for its size and business. Crowded areas and retail/corporate sites enhance crime.

Challenging Crime, Dangerous Cities

Emeryville may not be America’s most dangerous city, but SafeWise.com thinks additional crime statistics are needed. Police chief Jen Tejada condemns “service population” and edge rankings.

These cities need more than the police to fight crime. Address poverty, homelessness, and safety. Because each municipality has distinct difficulties, crime reduction must be addressed for long-term growth.
