Yankton is also one of the most perilous cities in South Dakota with a population of 14,712 and a high crime rate. Sioux Falls is one of the most populous cities in South Dakota with 187,370 inhabitants. It also has a high crime rate.
A New Public Transit Service
In a published article by Government Technology, Sioux Falls, South Dakota’s largest city, will soon have a new public transit service provider called Via. This partnership will bring new features powered by innovative technology and improvements, such as on-demand transit.
Via will take over operations of Sioux Area Metro and employ all current city operational staff. The goal is to provide a tech-forward and rider-centric transportation approach that focuses on accessibility, efficiency, and data analysis.
