The Utah Jazz won their second straight road game 119-111 over the struggling Detroit Pistons.
Utah Jazz Overcome Roster Challenges, Defeat Detroit Pistons
The Jazz defeated the Pistons despite losing Lauri Markannen, Talen Hoton-Tucker, Omer Yurtseven, Jordan Clarkson, and youngster Keyonte George, who had an ankle injury.
A win was needed to avoid a franchise record of 26 straight defeats for the Detroit Pistons, who were 2-26 and had 25 straight losses. Utah needed unexpected heroes to replace All-Star Markannen and other scorers.
Kelly Olynyk, Simone Fontecchio, and Ochai Agbaji were key to the Jazz’s success. Olynyk scored 27, Fontecchio 16 with three-pointers, and Agbaji 18 off the bench. Collin Sexton extended his dominance with 19 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals. Kris Dunn rebounded with 13 points and 10 assists, controlling the offense and reducing turnovers, improving the Jazz this season.

Utah Jazz Capitalize on Detroit’s Turnover to Secure Victory
The game turned on Detroit’s 20 turnovers and 29% three-point shooting. The sloppy game prevented Detroit’s leading scorers Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, and Marvin Bagley from overcoming an 8-point deficit.
The Jazz went without a field goal in the fourth quarter, but Olynyk’s clutch plays and Fontecchio’s scoring helped. In one of his best Jazz games, Ochai Agbaji scored 18 much-needed points and was aggressive on both ends.
The Jazz’s win boosts their confidence ahead of the Raptors. This game’s momentum should be maintained and more healthy bodies should be available to help turn the season around for Christmas.
