In the Fall Classic, he had a.105 batting average and.490 OPS, but he had a.294 average and.898 OPS earlier in the postseason. Seattle Mariners Secure Versatile Mitch Garver: A Look at the New Acquisition’s Career Stats and Potential Impact
Career stats: 252 batting average, 825 OPS, 9.8 WAR. In addition to catching, he has played first base.
This acquisition gives the Seattle Mariners a backup catcher and designated hitter option for Cal Raleigh. After intentionally freeing up roughly $50 million in compensation earlier in the offseason, the team’s designated hitter and lineup decisions are questionable.
In eight career games at T-Mobile Park, Garver is 0-for-31 with two walks and an RBI. Overall, his hitting performance has been better against left-handed pitchers.
