Matthew Switalski is now facing charges of murder after her girlfriend’s burned remains were found in the garage of a home they both live in.

An accountant for a defense contractor, Matthew Switalski, has been charged with the murder of a teacher, Veronica Aguilar. Aguilar’s burned remains were found in the garage of the home she shared with Matthew Switalski.
Neighbors reported hearing screams coming from the house in Los Angeles. Matthew Switalski was arrested and charged with murder shortly after. Matthew Switalski had previously been employed by Northrop Grumman but left in May.
The cause of the fire that engulfed the garage is believed to be an explosion. Aguilar’s family had become concerned when she didn’t show up for work. Matthew Switalski and Aguilar were in a relationship, evident from their social media accounts.
According to a published article by the Daily Mail, Matthew Switalski had a prior arrest for misconduct against another romantic partner. Matthew Switalski also rented rooms in his home to other employees of Northrop Grumman.
