Unclaimed 4th Stimulus Checks: Millions of Americans May Qualify for Up to $1,400
Some Americans may not have claimed their federal stimulus monies, even though most received them via direct transfers, cheques, or prepaid debit cards. Some recipients may have discarded prepaid debit cards as irrelevant, resulting in unclaimed payments.
Filing taxes and requesting for the Recovery Rebate credit is the easiest way to recover the money. To help low-income Americans file taxes, GetCTC is available. Three sets of pandemic stimulus payments were worth $1,200, $600, and $1,400. Eligible citizens filed a 2020 tax return and met income requirements for these payouts.
The Property Tax/Rent/Heat (PTC) refund in Colorado supports disabled and older citizens paying property taxes, rent, and heating bills with up to $1,044. The program aims to provide over $7 million in aid to Coloradans 65 or older, surviving spouses 58 or older, and disabled people in 2023. Single filers can earn $16,925 and married couples $22,858.

Without government support, many towns and states have adopted Universal Basic Income (UBI) schemes. These initiatives help low-income fathers in Columbia, South Carolina, and new and expecting mothers in Washington, DC.
Enrolled tax agent Karla Dennis recommends searching for state-specific refunds using “tax stimulus” and their state’s name. She suggests browsing the state’s Department of Revenue website for more.
