Fugitive Fraudster: Bryan Gatlin’s Alleged Scheme Raises Alarms in GA Insurance Circles
Georgia officials are actively seeking Bryan Gatlin, the 57-year-old proprietor of Atlanta Lawn Co., who stands accused of falsely asserting that his high-end lawnmower was stolen, resulting in a $19,000 payout from the insurance company. This incident is only the beginning, as Gatlin is sought after concerning a minimum of eight additional dubious insurance claims associated with purportedly stolen lawnmowers.
Georgia Insurance Commissioner John King revealed that Gatlin used forged documents and multiple false aliases to orchestrate these claims, resulting in approximately $148,000 in insurance payments tied to the suspect.
One of the allegedly fraudulent claims dates back to 2019, when Gatlin reported to the Gwinnett County Police and Main Street Assurance Co. that his equipment had been stolen, prompting a payout from the insurer. However, an investigation later uncovered the fraudulent nature of his claim, leading to the issuance of a warrant for Gatlin’s arrest on December 5. As of December 24, Gatlin remained at large.
