Through the use of DNA technology, the cold case may be close to being solved.
A Cold Case’s Breakthrough
California detectives have made a breakthrough in a cold case from 1971 after DNA from a skull found in 1986 was connected to a missing woman from 52 years ago. Donna Lass had been reported missing in 1971 and the cold case had remained unresolved.
In 1986, a skull was discovered but no other evidence was found which made it a cold case. Recently, the cold case made a breakthrough as the skull was sent for DNA testing, which matched it to a member of Lass’s family.
According to a published article by Fox News, the cold case is still open as investigators work to determine the cause of death. Anyone with information to solve the cold case is urged to contact the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.
