A Southern California couple, Dr. Vijay Wali and Dr. Jyotika Wali, fell victim to a horrifying attack as robbers followed them for 16 miles and violently stole generations of valuable jewelry in Fullerton. The assailants struck just after the couple had returned home from a jewelry store in Cerritos, where they had their family heirlooms polished. The attackers, caught partly on tape, assaulted the couple in their driveway, leaving them traumatized.

Dr. Vijay Wali and Dr. Jyotika Wali were ambushed in their driveway by two assailants just after returning from a jewelry store. The attackers violently stole valuable heirlooms, leaving the couple shaken.
The assailants, captured by security cameras, punched Dr. Vijay Wali and attacked Dr. Jyotika Wali, swiftly fleeing the scene in two cars. The family’s daughter, Dr. Priyanka Wali, witnessed the ordeal and called 911, but the attackers escaped.
The family, including a practicing physician, Dr. Priyanka Wali, emphasized the organized and skilled nature of the attackers. The stolen items, including a significant Kashmiri Hindu bridal jewel, held deep cultural and symbolic importance.

Investigation Unfolding as Family Grapples with Trauma
Fullerton Police are investigating the incident as a “home invasion robbery,” with the attackers’ journey and organization adding to the complexity of the case.
The family, traumatized by the attack, expressed fear and concerns about living in an environment seemingly lacking law enforcement. Dr. Jyotika Wali admitted to being scared to return home and noted the ongoing emotional trauma.
