Around 7:25 p.m., three people knocked on an Atlantic Street SE apartment door. When the resident answered, the suspects forced him down and hit him with a stick. They seized Lola, a 7-month-old female pit dog, at the apartment’s back. One suspect left the apartment after the startling theft, stating they would take the dog. Whether the suspects knew the victim before the incident is unknown.

After breaking into one apartment, the suspects tried to break into another. They walked upstairs and banged on the door as one suspect fired.

Another suspect covered a neighboring camera to hide their activity. The culprits fled in the 100 Block of Atlantic Street SE after failing to enter the second apartment. D.C. police have identified the suspects and are charging them with first-degree burglary, simple assault, and unlawful entry.
