Delaware State Police arrested a 37-year-old man after the man ran a red light and disregarded a police signal.
Delaware State Police’s Recent Arrest
Delaware State Police arrested Christopher Russum, 37, of Hartly, after a police pursuit in Dover. Russum was driving a white Ford Expedition and was spotted by a trooper from Delaware State Police running a red light.
When a trooper from the Delaware State Police attempted to stop him, Russum did not yield and instead led police on a chase. The chase ended when the SUV was disabled and the Delaware State Police apprehended Russum.
During the arrest, troopers from the Delaware State Police detected signs of impairment and discovered that Russum had five previous DUI convictions. He now faces multiple charges according to the Delaware State Police.
According to a published article by the Shore News Network, the man’s charges include a felony 6th offense DUI, disregarding a police officer signal, leaving the scene of a property collision accident, and driving while suspended.
$11,626 Cash Bond
In a published article by WGMD, Russum has been remanded to Sussex Correctional Institution on an $11,626 cash bond. It is deeply concerning that Russum had five previous DUI convictions before being charged with a 6th offense DUI.
This highlights a serious disregard for the safety of others and a concerning pattern of behavior. The fact that he also disregarded a police officer’s signal, left the scene of a property collision accident, and was driving while suspended further compounds the gravity of his actions.
