Russian and Chinese weaponry poses potential threats to the US which they responded to through speed-up processes of their weaponry.
The Danger Of Potential Threats From Russia And China
The Pentagon is speeding up its efforts to develop new explosives due to potential threats from Russian and Chinese weaponry. In line with the speed-up process of weaponry due to potential threats, the majority of the current stockpile in the US dates back to World War II.
The primary explosives in use have not seen significant advancements since their invention in the late 19th and early 20th centuries which is a great disadvantage when dealing with potential threats from other countries. China and Russia, the reasons of the potential threats, have been investing heavily in this field, leading to a substantial increase in the US Department of Defense’s budget for improving explosives.
According to a published article by BNN Breaking, regarding the preparation with the said potential threats, new compounds like CL-20 and LLM-105 show promise, with CL-20 being powerful and fast-detonating, and LLM-105 being stable for use in high-temperature environments.
The US, aside from monitoring the potential threats, is also closely monitoring international developments, such as pentazolate salt from China and tetrazole-based explosives from Germany.
The Pentagon aims to ensure that American munitions remain competitive on the global stage, and ready for any potential threats, as the international race in explosives intensifies.
