Asia One recently reported about former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley intensifying her campaign efforts in New Hampshire as the latest poll reveals former President Donald Trump’s lead expanding ahead of the Republican presidential primary on Jan 23. The final CNN/University of New Hampshire poll, conducted from Jan 16 to Jan 19, indicates Trump securing 50% support among likely Republican primary voters, compared to Haley’s 39%. With a two percentage point margin of error, the poll shows Trump gaining supporters since early January, reinforcing his dominance in the race.

Challenges for Haley’s Upset Bid

Time is running short for Haley to overturn Trump’s lead, particularly after his recent victory in the Iowa caucus. Despite facing criminal cases, Trump remains the frontrunner, with Haley needing a significant upset in New Hampshire to stay in contention for the nomination.

Haley, the former UN ambassador for President Trump, has escalated her attacks on Trump, emphasizing the chaos during his tenure. However, political analysts suggest she needs a surprising result in the upcoming primary to reset expectations and maintain viability.

Trump, 77, and Haley, 52, engage in age-related criticisms, with Trump dismissing concerns about his cognitive abilities. The daughter of Indian immigrants, Haley, aims to present herself as a fresh alternative, but Trump’s devoted followers remain steadfast despite increased attacks.

Trump’s Fierce Defense and Biden’s Influence

Trump intensifies attacks on Haley, including racist remarks on social media. At the same time, Biden, not officially on the New Hampshire ballot, is expected to secure 63% of write-in votes, providing an early indication of his strength heading into a potential November rematch with Trump.

Haley’s challenge is underscored by Trump’s devoted supporters, who remain unwavering despite criticisms. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis trails behind Trump and Haley, with the political landscape becoming increasingly competitive as the primary date approaches.
