Pennsylvania’s Rebate Program

Changes to Pennsylvania’s property tax/rent rebate program have increased by 3,800 eligible seniors in the Valley region. A report from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue reveals that 300 additional residents in Montour County, and 2,200 more in Northumberland County are now eligible for the rebate program.

700 in Snyder County, and 600 in Union County are also on the list of eligible people for the rebate program. The filing period for the rebate program is now open to all interested parties.

Out of the 175,000 seniors statewide, these Valley seniors were affected by the new requirements of the rebate program. Individuals who are 65 years or older are also eligible to be in the rebate program.

Widows and widowers who are at least 50 years old, and those with disabilities who are 18 years or above and earn $45,000 or less can be eligible for the rebate program. These individuals who are eligible for the rebate program can receive a minimum rebate of $380.

According to a published article by The Daily Item, the rebate amount varies based on income, with those making up to $8,000 eligible for $1,000, $8,001-$15,000 earners eligible for $770, individuals earning between $15,001 and $18,000 eligible for $460, and anyone making $18,001 to $45,000 qualifying for $380. To apply, residents can visit mypath.pa.gov.

In a published article by Action News Jax, thanks to the JEA rebate program, the USS Orleck Naval Museum in Downtown Jacksonville has upgraded its lighting infrastructure.

This not only improves the visitor experience but also leads to significant savings on the museum’s electric bill. The lighting upgrade is part of the museum’s efforts to create a more immersive environment for guests exploring naval history.
