An amazing 67,000 applications were submitted for the guaranteed income program on Friday’s application session, from which only 2,000 would be picked.
Applicants must live in high-poverty zip areas and be 200% below the federal poverty threshold. Despite the tremendous interest, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo said candidates for the guaranteed income program have until Friday night to submit and will be randomly selected.
