DeSantis has also warned that a storm system could potentially impact the declared counties in Florida in the upcoming week.
According to the National Hurricane Center, there is a 90% likelihood that the system will develop into a cyclone within the next 48 hours, possibly impacting 33 counties in Florida.

The emergency declaration in the counties in Florida includes the area along the Gulf Coast starting from Fort Myers in the southwest and extending up to Panama City in the Panhandle region.
It was reported by ABC News that DeSantis has signed an Executive Order declaring a state of emergency out of an abundance of caution, leaving almost half of the counties in Florida under a state of emergency.
Tropical Depression Ten is expected to intensify and possibly become Tropical Storm Idalia by Sunday. It is predicted to approach the Gulf Coast of Florida by Tuesday, and to affect many counties in Florida, ABC News added.
