Kidnapping Crime Of A Van Driver
An inmate transport van driver in North Carolina is facing kidnapping charges. The van driver faces such charges after quitting mid-trip and refusing to stop at the intended destination.
The van driver, identified as Joshua James Pinquet, was off-course and refused to return the van. The van driver’s vehicle had four inmates in the locked cargo area.
Deputies stopped the van, detained the van driver and another employee, and secured the inmates. Pinquet, the van driver, has been charged with kidnapping and robbery by an employee.
According to a published article by Fox News, after the van driver’s kidnapping crime, the inmates were given to other personnel to continue their journey to Florida which was supposedly what the van driver should have done.
Second-Degree Kidnapping And Larceny
In a published article by The Daily Advance, the driver had four inmates in the van’s cargo area but texted the owner of the company that he was quitting and wouldn’t stop as planned.
Deputies stopped the van, detained the driver and another employee, and ensured the inmates were secure.
The driver has been charged with second-degree kidnapping and larceny, and the inmates were transferred to another transport company to continue their journey.
