A powerful storm swept up the East Coast, causing two deaths and significant damage. One death due to the powerful storm was a man in Maine who was killed by a falling tree branch, while another man in Massachusetts died when a tree struck his travel trailer when the powerful storm hit.
A mother and her infant survived with minor injuries after their vehicle was hit by a branch due to the powerful storm. The powerful storm also led to flooding alerts and power outages for millions of people.
The powerful storm originated in Florida and brought strong winds and heavy rainfall to the Carolinas before moving up the coast. The powerful storm was fueled by subtropical humidity from the Atlantic.
According to a published article by NBC News, the powerful storm also clashed with cooler air, resulting in record low air pressure readings and unusually warm temperatures which greatly caused damage to the places the powerful storm went through.
Other Casualties Of The Powerful Storm
In a published article by the NY Post, the storm also affected subway service, causing closures and disruptions. Thousands of New Yorkers experienced power outages, with the majority occurring in Queens.
New Jersey and Connecticut also reported significant outages. In New England, over 150,000 customers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire were without power.
