Cities in Colorado are known for their beautiful landscapes and outdoor activities, but it has also experienced a population increase and a rise in criminal activity. Additionally, cities in Colorado ranked second in the nation for property-related crimes.

According to a published article by the Southwest Journal, Grand Junction, one of the most unsafe cities in Colorado, a crime occurs approximately every 3 hours and 13 minutes on average. Another one of the most dangerous cities in Colorado is city Aurora, which has alarming crime statistics. In 2020, there were 2,890 property offenses and 728 violent offenses for every 100,000 individuals.

La Junta is also one of the most dangerous cities in Colorado and has an average crime rate of 84.67 per 1000 inhabitants, resulting in an F safety rating. Alamosa also makes it to the list of the most dangerous cities in Colorado and has one of the highest crime rates nationally, with 59 crimes per 1000 residents.

Pueblo is also on the list of the most unsafe cities in Colorado and has a crime rate of 70 per 1000 inhabitants, making it more dangerous than 98% of communities in the state.

STD Rates In Colorado

In a published article by Retro 102.5, STD rates are still a significant issue, affecting over 110 million people in the US with 20 million new infections annually. In Colorado, Colorado Springs, and Denver are among the top 100 worst cities for STDs in the US. Colorado Springs ranks 47th on the list, reporting 784 STDs per 100,000 residents, including 40 HIV cases, 4,164 Chlamydia cases, 1,446 Gonorrhea cases, and 87 Syphilis cases.
