Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended Michael Macinnis, 45, on various felony charges, including those related to a 2023 fraud case involving the forgery of documents linked to a stolen vehicle from a Cordes Lakes home.

Alleged Forgery and Vehicle Sale
Macinnis, accused of squatting in a residence where the homeowner had passed away, purportedly forged documents to claim ownership of a 2005 Chevy Tahoe stolen from the property in May 2023. He then sold the vehicle to a Flagstaff resident, triggering the investigation.
During the arrest, Macinnis reportedly resisted law enforcement efforts, even injuring a deputy by slamming a metal door on their wrist. Authorities discovered that he had potentially ingested 40 fentanyl pills before arrest, prompting medical intervention.
Macinnis, exhibiting signs of incoherence and drowsiness on the way to jail, received NarCan from jail medical staff. After his hospital release, he faced charges including Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, along with multiple fraud and forgery-related offenses.
