Charges of attempted murder and tampering with evidence are now being faced by a man in Texas.

On January 21, 2024, officers responded to a report of attempted murder and an injured person in the area of 5th/Sheldon. They found the victim of the attempted murder named Jahmaal Glover bleeding from his head and provided emergency aid before he was transported to the hospital.
Meanwhile, officers were directed to a house where they found the suspect of the attempted murder, Francisco Rodriguez-Rivera inside. The suspect of the attempted murder was detained and taken to the Clovis Police Department for questioning.
Detectives took over the investigation and spoke with the victim of the attempted murder. According to the victim of the attempted murder, he had an argument with Francisco that escalated into a physical fight.
According to a published article by FOX 34.com, it is alleged that during the fight, Jahmaal armed himself with a knife, but the suspect of the attempted murder used a baseball bat to disarm him. Francisco, the suspect in the attempted murder, then reportedly stabbed and cut Jahmaal multiple times while threatening to kill him.
Jahmaal suffered injuries to his head, and arms, and had a broken leg. He was taken to a hospital in Lubbock and is now in stable condition.
A Box Cutter As A Weapon
In a published article by News Channel 10, a boxcutter, believed to be the weapon used, was recovered from the house, along with evidence of attempted cleanup.
