Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) paid $117 million in April, contributing to the$169M collection in 2023. In PG&E’s bankruptcy proceedings, this settlement addressed damages from many fires, including the 2018 Camp Fire, one of the deadliest wildfires ever.
Central California medical provider Clinica Sierra Vista settled for $26 million in February. The provider underreported clinic income from Fresno, Kern, and Inyo counties, according to prosecutors. California gets $15.59 million and the feds the rest.
Lags Spine & Sportscare Medical Centers Inc. and Dr. Francis P. Lagattuta paid $11.4 million to settle false claim allegations. The allegations involved invoicing Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Oregon Medicaid for needless medical treatments.

These different agreements helped the Fresno U.S. Attorney’s Office collect $169M in 2023, demonstrating its ability to handle various legal matters and get large financial recovery.
