The Kansas Department Of Revenue is expecting millions of tax returns to be filed.
Online Tools By The IRS and The Kansas Department of Revenue
Tax season has started with the Internal Revenue Service accepting tax returns until April 15 and the Kansas Department of Revenue introducing an online tool to help with the tax season. Both the IRS and the Kansas Department of Revenue expect 128.7 million individual tax returns to be filed.
As what the IRS and the Kansas Department of Revenue announced, most federal tax refunds are issued within 24 days of filing. The Kansas Department of Revenue also introduced an online to help tax filers while the IRS also has an online tool called “Where’s My Refund” to track the status of your federal tax refund.
According to a published article by SmartNews, the Kansas Department of Revenue also announced that Kansas state taxes can also be filed online. Refunds should be expected in 10 to 14 days for online filers and 16 to 20 weeks for mail filers, the Kansas Department of Revenue added.

In a published article by The Topeka Capital-Journal, the IRS will begin accepting and processing federal income tax returns on January 29th this year, which is also Kansas Day. This is later than in the last two years, when filing began on January 23rd, 2023, and January 24th, 2022.
