A father of four from Virginia has been indicted on charges of killing his son and then falsely reporting him missing seven months later.

Cory Jamar Bigsby, aged 44, is facing accusations of felony murder and unlawful transportation or concealment of a dead body to avoid detection, as stated in a two-page indictment reviewed by Law&Crime. The alleged murder of 4-year-old Codi Bigsby took place in June 2021.
During a press conference, Reggie Williams, the public information officer of the Hampton Police Department (HPD) in Virginia, announced that Cory Bigsby was voluntarily cooperating with police and answering their questions at the police headquarters. The police are also seeking information from local residents who may have any knowledge about Cory or Codi Bigsby’s whereabouts before the incident, according to Fox News.Â

Police said on the last day of January 2022, Cory Bigsby contacted the Hampton Police Department around 9 a.m. to report his son missing. He claimed that the boy had been last seen wearing all-black clothing and Spider-Man flip-flops approximately seven hours earlier.
Extensive efforts were made by the community to locate Codi, and the case garnered significant attention and support. Despite the involvement of FBI agents in the search, no progress was made, as reported by Law and Crime.Â
